“Comfortable and Convenient Riad”
Riad Dar Najat was a very lovely place located close to the center of Marrakesh. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful and everything was organized and timely. Not worrying about transport and directions was great as Oliver and his staff took care of all the details. Great place for a week holiday in Morocco.

“Most Delicious Meal in all of Marrakech!”
Upon arrival at the Riad Dar Najat, we were told that we would be served dinner...Not knowing what to expect, we sat down to wait in one of their relaxing lounges. When dinner came, we were immediately drooling. A rich spicy lemony chicken tagine, complimented with zuchinni florets and eggplant and string beans and a fresh salad and fresh bread. Of course beer and wine and dessert. My brother and I felt like kings. We ate it all.
They were also kind as to ask us other foods we enjoyed, and prepared us a delicious lamb dish as well. Considering we wanted to explore some other restaurants around the area, we visited a pricey close-by restaurant, Le Marrakechi, which ended up being quite boring, the meat dry and served in small portions... Without a doubt, Dar Najat's Kitchen was our favorite restaurant, and to make it all the bette, you could enjoy your meal in the privacy of your own Riad (that is if you are lucky enough to be staying there as well). We asked the staff to prepare us the same meal from our arrival for our departure, and is was as delicious as the first, if not more. I wish I could enjoy it right now...NEXT TIME!
Thanks Dar Najat Kitchen!

“Quirky, friendly and a place to have great food”
We only stayed at this riad for one night which was a great pity. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much for them. It is a slightly quirky riad but in a good way! The owner Oliver is possibly the most friendly and acommodating man you will meet in Marrakech. There are plenty of areas to sit outside, which are all very comfortable. The rooms are clean and comfortable with great art work dotted around. The only cristism I would have is that because the rooms are narrow and long , as is the case in most raids, it makes it slightly difficult to get into and out of bed on one side, perhaps a smaller bedside table at one side would help with this. However the room had both air conditioning and a heater, the heater was very much appreciated at night time. Food wise we had both a lunch and evening meal here and the lamb was the best we had during our stay in Morocco - beating even the best restaurants!

“Real Moroccan Home Cooking”
I've stayed at this riad a few times and have come back for dinners even when I wasn't an overnight guest there. The food is great. The service is like being with family. It's really close to the big square and is easy to find. The atmosphere was great - Exotic and mysterious with soft lighting and cool R&B tunes to set the mood. They have wine and beer too, which you don't find everywhere in the medina. The Moroccan salad and kafta tagine were are outstanding! I'll be back...

“It's like eating at home”
As a foodie, I have tried street and gourmet food and eaten at some
of the best restaurants in Marrakech. My general felling was the best
food is what you eat at Home.
I heard great things about dar Najat Kitchen which opened recently
and decided to give it a go ,out of curiosity. And My expectations were
not frustrated
The place is not properly speaking a restaurant but a riad with ground
floor couryard whcih can easily accommodate 15 to 20 people .The riad
terrace has af ew tables for 2 and 4 people . There is also a room at
the top with a superb view of the Medina which functions as a niche
for a tete a tete and intimate dinners
I did not go for the decor but for the food and I was not disappointed.
The starters - aubergine, cauliflower and Mechouia were out of this
world; tasty and mouth watering. I opted for their royal couscous as a
main dish. I have eaten couscous at home and many places all over
Morocco but Dar Najat's is beats them all. The vegetables were cooked
al dente and not mushy as is the custom. The lamb meat was tender and
succulent and the carmelised onions just the right sweetness.
After a hearty meal I decided against dessert and had some tea instead.
A highlight of the evening was the belly dancer who provided some
high quality enetertainment to the amusemnt of kids and grown- ups
The bill amounted to 300 dh. which was more than a decent price and
less than you will pay at most of '"gourmet" restaurants in
Marrakech. Wine and beer is extra but mineral water, tea and coffee
are complimentary.
The staff are friendly and the place is homely and cosy and is ideal
for family ascwell as couples.
So if you 're looking for a home made meal and gourmet food without
paying an exorbitant price Dar Najat Kitchen is the place for you. You
need just to book your dinner in advance
BOUTIQUE RIAD MARRAKECH 2012
This riad really made our holiday to Marrakech!
After a long exchange of e-mails between myself and the owner Olliver, we decided to book direct with him. His answers to my questions, always very promptly, certainly helped with my decision to book.
The welcome dinner we had for booking minimum 4 nights direct was unbelievable! Lamb tagine with lots of spiced vegetables etc - without a doubt the BEST meal we had anywhere on a 5 night trip. Breakfast was also tasty, served in the morning sun on the top terrace, which was beautiful. The whole riad was just beautiful - my first impression when we arrived mid-evening was 'wow', the lighting creating a great ambience everywhere.
The service was always brilliant, with Amin always willing to get us drinks and answer any queries we had with the area in general. He even took us to the main square on the first morning so we could find our way. Our shower had a slight problem with the water not being hot enough. Once reported this was promptly fixed by Tariq - another credit to the slick operation in this riad.
The riad is well located, about a 7 minute walk to the main square, which is good as any closer you would hear the constant passing of motorbikes at all hours - they literally ride bikes EVERYWHERE in the medina, even through the narrowest of alleys - be careful!
We had the Sakina room on the ground floor. The bed was firm but comfortable. Bathroom was a good size with powerful shower, and I believe the biggest compared to the smaller ones in other bedrooms we saw. Some may not like the lack of sunlight as the room is inside on the ground floor, but this suited us to enable us to sleep past sunrise!
To sum it up, we'd definitely recommend Dar Najat to anyone looking for a genuine riad in the medina. The staff, service, and the beauty of this riad makes an excellent base for exploring Marrakech.

BEST CHILD FRIENDLY RIAD IN MOROCCO
“Wonderful riad with attention to every detail without the commercial feeling.”
Wonderful riad with attention to every detail without the commercial feeling. The owner, frenchman Oliver resident in Morocco for 25 years, and his wonderful staff makes their riad the perfect oasis in between excursions in the charming and "exotic" but rather kaotic city. When we arrived, we were immediately shown to the rooftop, seated in the warming sun and served "breakfast" (even though 11.30 am) by the smiling staff. And the genuine hospitality lasted until we left our escort at the airport going home. They also arranged a one-day trip to the Atlas mountains with a very nice guide, including a visit to a Berber market (on Thursdays only!) making you feel 1000 years back in time (I really recommend not to miss this!) and a nice walk to the waterfalls.
And please note that Dar Najat has their own kitchen/resataurant, although you always have to book in advance. We had one dinner here and it really made me convinced that Morroccan cuisine is one of the absolute best in the world.
As long as you are not after a large, luxury hotel with multiple restaurants and a mega-gym, it it virtually impossible to be disappointed with this place! Thanks Oliver!

“Wonderful experience!”
I had the most wonderful trip to Marrakech mostly due to Oliver and his most thoughtful crew. I loved Marrakech and I plan to return and will again stay at Riad Dar Najat. I was made to feel so welcome and among friends from the minute the driver picked me up at the airport until I left. I will always be grateful for all of the kindness that was shown to me! I can not wait to go back! Thanks, Oliver, and everyone in your house. You have a remarkable group.
With gratitude,

BEST CHILD FRIENDLY RIAD IN MOROCCO
Once again I have returned to stay at Riad Dar Najat and had a lovely welcome from Oliver Amin and all the staff. It's a great place to stay in Marrakech....very central, but also quiet enough to come back to and relax after the hustle and bustle of Jemma El Fna. The Riad is beautifully designed with an African theme....the rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a good shower with constant hot water. My stay included a fantastic breakfast of fresh orange juice, a selection of bread, pastries and crepes, jams and coffee all served on the spacious roof terrace.
So.....excellent accommodation, food, service, music, and most of all excellent company from Oliver and all his staff. I love staying there, and hope to return again soon!!
“ A peaceful haven in the midst of the Marrakech bustle”
“You will feel like family (and kings) at the Riad Dar Najat!”
My brother and I (20 and 23 years old) returned to New York last night from a 2 week trip, where our first five nights were spent at the Dar Najat after having seen great reviews on TripAdvisor. We had an incredible time and can not thank Oliver (the owner) and his great team at the Riad more for making our trip perfect. It is 5 minutes to the main square and all of the action in Marrakech, it has the best food, best people and best views, and the staff will help plan your days, and even arrange day trips for a reasonable price when necessary.
First of all, the price can not be beat. The beautiful tiles, artwork, trees, roof terrace, views, and architecture at the riad make you feel like you're in a mansion made for Kings, with a staff of wonderful young locals who became our great friends very quickly. The staff could not do more for you, and you will not find this service anywhere for five times the price.
One night we spent as much money on dinner (for two) at a nearby restaurant as one night in the riad cost us, and the dinner was NOWHERE NEAR as good as the complementary dinner we received the fist night and opted for (and paid muchhhh less for) several nights. The food at the Riad was the best food we had in all of Marrakech, and was cooked by Leila, a very sweet and beautiful girl who works at the Dar Najat.
I could go on and on, bust I must get back to life in America now.
If you go to Marrakech, STAY AT THE RIAD DAR NAJAT!!!!
(Even if your budget allows for a hotel five times the price. Trust me.)
I must also mention that you will be especially lucky if Oliver's mother Claudine is hanging around at the riad during your trip. She is a lovely old French woman who sits around with her adorable little dog Marcel. She will be more than happy to engage in conversation with you, and is very sweet and has a great sense of humor.
Room Tip: We stayed in the Noura Room, one of the cheapest two rooms. It had two twin beds that were good enough for good nights' sleep, and had nice decor.

“AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT RIAD DAR NAJAT!”
The start of 2012 came with a pleasant surprise, a trip to Marrakech, Morocco with my younger brother Jeff, who you can find below. Upon arrival into this beautiful culturally rich city, we were brought to the Riad Dar Najat, which we found using this website after reading so many fine reviews. We were immediately surprised to find that not only was the decor of the riad young and hip and fun, but so were the employees. We were brought to the roof of the riad and sat in the sun looking over the buildings, while they made us the perfect mint tea to complement the already surreal relaxation we were feeling. Oliver and his staff had already made us feel at home within 30 or so minutes from the time we arrived.
The first night we were told that we would be fed by them. and not knowing what to expect, we were brought the finest meal of the entire trip. It was a lemony spicy chicken tagine, with delicious perfectly spiced veggies, salad and fresh bread, and it was absolutely delicious. We actually ordered the same meal for our final night.
They had already surprised us with their hospitality and delicious food, and to make things even more convenient, they knew of all the fun and exciting places to visit in the old city and the surrounding areas. After setting us up with their drivers, we were also able to take a day trip to the atlas mountains where we drank tea under waterfalls. And the next day they brought us to their other Riad in Essaouira, where we sat on the roof overlooking the water.
It was an absolutely incredible trip. We finished the trip off in Barcelona and Madrid, but nothing could compare to the fun we had with the people at Riad Dar Najat. If we could have stayed longer we would, and another visit is absolutely necessary. THANK YOU RIAD DAR NAJAT!! You went above and beyond our expectations.

“O.M.G ambrosia,heavenly food,heavenly atmosphere,heavenly surroundings”
One of the most magnificent meals I have ever had was here, from the Dar Najat kitchen! It was our first ever trip to Marrakech and we were not quite sure what to expect, and to be honest our expectations were not very high but we were blown away by the quality and presentation of the delicious feast we had for our evening meal. When I say 'we' I am talking about a mum and a 13 yr old girl, just to give you an idea how well the food travels through generations! The traditional tagine was a treat, the best we had the good fortune to taste on our short 7 day visit. Nowhere else came close in comparison, and we tried more than a few other places. We sat at a beautiful table with hand made mosaic tiles, beautiful lighting and with the most attentive and friendly staff and got spoiled rotten and loved it! All the food was so fresh, the vegetables were out of this world, being from the uk I thought organic veg was the best you can get but now...after tasting the veg from here and the wonderful way it is cooked and presented I am dissapointed in what we produce in the uk!!!
We also sampled the breakfast here,it sounds strange calling it a breakfast as it it more like a 4 course meal! magnificent Moroccan Orange juice is first served to not only cleanse the pallet but to get those gastric juices flowing and the appetite stimulated as you will be served with fresh warm pastries, pain au chocolat, croissants and coffee, you will love these and then lo and behold another course is brought to you....pancakes and eggs....so wonderfully cooked you just have to eat them and just when you thought you were going to burst the most fresh and succulent fruit is presented and it is very hard to resist.....thank goodness the riad has a lot of 'chill out' areas for you to relax and digest in! Thanks to all at Dar Najat for a culinary delight, when in Marrakech We will be eating there morning noon and night. Special thanks to the kitchen staff who let me watch and taught me the 'secrets' of the tagine Karin&Eleni Tinklas

We stayed at Dar Najat for 5 nights in early December. We had a great time. Olivier and his whole team couldn't do enough for us. Amine was a great guide on the first day walking us to the main square till we got our bearings. After that he was always around to recommend restaurants (taking us to them twice) and generally be on hand to help. The riad was a great 'chill' place, beautifully appointed and a great place to relax, a haven in the crazy busy exhiliarating medina. We will go back, and next time we are going to ask Olivier to organise and include a trip to the coast too.
Thanks everyone at Dar Najat, a great job done for us. See you next time. And a kiss for Browny too x

Dar Najat's Kitchen's oreintal starters
We had the pleasure of eating at Dar Najat's Kitchen in December, the food was simply the best we had in our weeks stay in Morocco.
The cuisine is traditional Moroccan, we had the selection of mixed vegatables for the starter, it came with four different dishes and we could not believe how much food was given to us, the portions were massive and really filling. We had the kefta tagine for the main, it was sublime, it had all the tradtional tastes to it and tasted like home cooked food, absolutely delicious. We had the chocolate cake for desert, again it was a massive portion but was so nice it just had to be eaten.....
The cost of our meal was very reasonable, we felt like we had excellent value for money and would highly recommend you visit Dar Najat's Kitchen if you are in Marrakech.

What a brilliant experience. We searched it out due to TripAdvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. It was a freezing cold evening and we were initially shown to an outside table...... when we asked if there was an inside alternative the waitress opened a lovely Moroccan door to reveal a tiny but perfect (and warm) private dining room.
There was no menu so, after taking a drinks order, asked if we were ready to eat and brought us a delicious 3 course meal.
The starters - a selection of beautifully spiced vegetables was the highlight for me.
This was our first night in the Medina and I think we made the mistake of not asking how much it was going to cost. We paid the same amount that we paid in the hotel the night before - which we discovered was quite expensive for local restaurants in Medina. Still only 500 Dirams and well worth it for the private dining experience
