BEST VIBES RIAD
Once again I have returned to stay at Riad Dar Najat and had a lovely welcome from Oliver Amin and all the staff. It's a great place to stay in Marrakech....very central, but also quiet enough to come back to and relax after the hustle and bustle of Jemma El Fna. The Riad is beautifully designed with an African theme....the rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a good shower with constant hot water. My stay included a fantastic breakfast of fresh orange juice, a selection of bread, pastries and crepes, jams and coffee all served on the spacious roof terrace.
So.....excellent accommodation, food, service, music, and most of all excellent company from Oliver and all his staff. I love staying there, and hope to return again soon!!
"COOLEST RIAD IN MARRAKECH"
“A Diamond in the Medina”
Oliver our host ,his wife and every one of the Dar Najat team were completly delightful.Myself (Lynda) and my daughter (Vikki) (both of whom are fairly well travelled and have no interest in ostentacious overpriced accomodation)took my son Chiron to Marrakech as a 21st birthday pressy,he had not been anywhere before so how different can you get!!! the Riad dar Najat is nestled in amongst the old lovely Medina and you will be unclear what is about to behold your eyes until the door opens to invite you in ' and it is just simply beautifull. Funky, cool and laid back and very welcoming. The staff were as kind and helpfull as anyone could ask and made us feel safe and special. The souks the buildings, and people were a visual delight but be prepared for an old city the like of which you will not experience in many places in the world. This is a very unique place that has to be quietly and slowly digested and returned to again another day. My four days stay here at Riad da Najat with my family made me very happy.

“Excellent riad - feels like your own holiday home”
I have stayed at this riad before and no doubt will be staying there again. The experience from start to finish was a positive one.
I had booked directly on the riads website, so I got the airport transfers for free, which is a great help in Marrakech as the taxi drivers at the airport can be a nightmare, they will try to overcharge you by double or more, with the riad taking care of the transfer, it took all of the stress out of the situation as a driver was waiting for me at the airport and took me straight to the riad. The drive from the airport is around 15 minutes, the driver can get to within 100 yards of the riad and when we got there, one of the riads staff members was waiting to take my luggage.
It was 25 degrees in Marrakech when I got there, it felt really hot, but once inside the riad, the heat seems to disappear, the air con was already on in my room which felt really nice. The room itself was very nice, it is tastefully decorated with authentic African artwork. I had a nice double bed which was very comfortable, it was not hard but also not too soft, somewhere in the middle. The pillows were nice and soft and everything was clean. All of the rooms in this riad are en-suite, there was a very powerful shower in the bathroom, with hot water 24/7. There were the usual complimentry toiletries and the towels were changed everyday. There was also a complimentry bottle of mineral water in the room, a nice touch as I found that all of the soft drinks, orange juice and tea/coffee are complimentry in this riad. There was also free WIFI available throughout the riad, it was very fast and I got an instant connection everytime I wanted to use it.
The riad itself is split into 4 floors, the accommodation is on the ground floor and first floor, there is then a terrace where you can relax and have your food, there is a private room where you can sit and relax in your own space. There is a massive heated Jacuzzi on this terrace which was nice after a hard days shopping around the souks. There is also an upper terrace, this also has a private room there, a number of sunbeds to catch the sun and also another area to relax and lounge around in. This upper terrace is wonderful in the evenings as you can take your drink up there and just look at all of the stars shining in the sky, a really relaxing experience.
The staff at this riad are so friendly, they are always there for you, whatever you need they will get it for you. The one day I wanted to go to a shop that was a 10 minute walk away, as I was in a rush, one of the staff members took me there on the back of his moped, another great experience I will never forget. All of the staff at the riad speak good English and the owner Olivier is always at hand to give you his advice. The riad itself is based in a quite area of the old medina of Marrakech, it is a 5 minute walk away from the Jemma el Fna square and only a few minutes away from the souks of Marrakech.
The food at this riad is excellent, the breakfast at this riad is an experience in itself, you get fresh orange juice, omelettes, fresh breads, waffles, pastries, tea/coffee, it is very filling and keeps you going. The staff are very flexible and will cook your breakfast whenever you wake up, this is a great point as if you want to sleep in one day, you dont have to worry about missing breakfast time. The riads restaurant has recently opened up to guests who are not staying at the riad, it was a great experience to meet new people and I found myself chatting away with them about their adventures in Marrakech. The restaurant is called Dar Najat's Kitchen and serves traditional Moroccan food, I would say the best you will find in all of Marrakech. My personal favourite was the chicken tagine, which was cooked to perfection, if you are staying in Marrakech then you must try the food at this riad in the evening, you will be so happy you did as it is an experience not to be forgotten.
I stayed 3 nights at this riad and then another 2 nights at its other riad in Essaouria, which is called Riad Bab Essaouira, all of the transfers were arranged for me and it is a great way of seeing two different places on one holiday.
If you are thinking of staying in a riad in Marrakech, then you cannot go wrong at Riad Dar Najat, have a look at the photos on their website and then book directly with them to get the best offers. Next time I am in Marrakech, I will definitely be staying at this riad again, highly recommended.

“Excellence all around - great riad and an even better staff”
I can't be more grateful for getting the recommendation to stay at Riad Dar Najat during my 8 day vacation in Marrakech with my boyfriend. The owner, Oliver was beyond helpful in recommending things to do, places to eat, and other parts of Morocco to see. Oliver had a driver waiting for us at the airport and made sure that our transportation was handled during all of our travels within Morocco. The staff at Riad Dar Najat are very sweet and you can tell that they not only love their job, but really respect Oliver. The riad itself is gorgeous and has a great ambiance for any occasion. As I was with my boyfriend, we did find it very romantic with candles and the rooftop lounge to hang out in at night, with a cocktail and a Jacuzzi!!
I would not hesitate to recommend this riad to any friends or family. You will get the local taste of Morocco and be well taken care of.
"top value riad in Marrakech"
My brother and I (20 and 23 years old) returned to New York last night from a 2 week trip, where our first five nights were spent at the Dar Najat after having seen great reviews on TripAdvisor. We had an incredible time and can not thank Oliver (the owner) and his great team at the Riad more for making our trip perfect. It is 5 minutes to the main square and all of the action in Marrakech, it has the best food, best people and best views, and the staff will help plan your days, and even arrange day trips for a reasonable price when necessary.
First of all, the price can not be beat. The beautiful tiles, artwork, trees, roof terrace, views, and architecture at the riad make you feel like you're in a mansion made for Kings, with a staff of wonderful young locals who became our great friends very quickly. The staff could not do more for you, and you will not find this service anywhere for five times the price.
One night we spent as much money on dinner (for two) at a nearby restaurant as one night in the riad cost us, and the dinner was NOWHERE NEAR as good as the complementary dinner we received the fist night and opted for (and paid muchhhh less for) several nights. The food at the Riad was the best food we had in all of Marrakech, and was cooked by Leila, a very sweet and beautiful girl who works at the Dar Najat.
I could go on and on, bust I must get back to life in America now.
If you go to Marrakech, STAY AT THE RIAD DAR NAJAT!!!!
(Even if your budget allows for a hotel five times the price. Trust me.)
I must also mention that you will be especially lucky if Oliver's mother Claudine is hanging around at the riad during your trip. She is a lovely old French woman who sits around with her adorable little dog Marcel. She will be more than happy to engage in conversation with you, and is very sweet and has a great sense of humor.
RIAD DAR NAJAT
“What a wonderful place”
We stayed at Dar Najat for a week whilst looking for property in the area. Olivier was a wonderful host and extremely happy to give us advice about the area. It was lovely to spend time at a Riad with such a personal approach and it was a welcome relief from the hectic world of Marrakesh.
I would recommend this riad to everyone and i will definitely stay again soon
BEST HOTEL MARRAKECH-RIAD DAR NAJAT
This was our second visit to Marrakech and we decided to stay at the same riad that we stayed in last year, Riad Dar Najat.
The riad is located within a 5 minute walk away from Jemma el Fna square, in a very quite part of the Old Medina of Marrakech. We had the airport transfer arranged for us by the owner Oliver as it seemed like the easiest option for us. On our last visit we found that a lot of the taxi drivers around Marrakech do not speak any English, getting the riad to organise the transfer meant that we could relax and let the driver take us to the riad.
The riad itself has been renovated since our last visit, everything looked perfect. The staff are so friendly at this riad, they all remembered us from last year and it was like seeing old friends. Whatever you need the staff can get it organised for you, if you need any tips on where to go or what to eat, they will be happy to give you impartial advice.
The food at the riad seemed even better than last time, the tagines they cook are made to perfection and we even got the cook to give us some of the spices she used to bring back home.
All of the rooms are ensuite and have everything that you need inside them, complimentry toiletries were provided and the towels were changed daily. The riad was kept spotless and we could not fault anything we experienced on our stay.
Be warned that Marrakech is a very addictive city, we are already planning our third trip and will be booking to stay at Riad Dar Najat again.
enjoy Marrakech at the finest with staying in Dar Najat!
Staff at the Riad are very accomodating and are exceptional. They absolutely make a difference and treat all their guests with generous hospitality. The meal that Leila cooked for us was the best we had whilst in Morroco and she is definately a treasure. We enjoyed our time with the other staff members and are already missing the fun we shared with Ahmed , Amin,'Maroc'-Mohamed,Mohamed and Tarek. Sorry if spellings are incorrect or we have missed anyone out . Oliver was very hospitable and we saw him most days during our stay. The Riad is clean and the staff were always dusting and polishing and washing. The Riad is in a great location and we felt safe whilst out and about, and we soon got used to the sights , sounds, and smells of this completely different environment. The Riad has lovely charm , ambience and is nicely furnished , the bedding (although clean) could do with updating as a previous guest has already mentioned .But we would definately stay here again

“An excellent team”

Compared to the prices of similar Riad's we did expect the quality of the furnishings, particularly the bedding, to be of a better quality, also we were placed in a room with 2 singles pushed together which again we didn't expect for that price and after specifically requesting a double.
It is a shame we didn't get to meet Oliver after extended communication with him before our trip, it seemed he had left a team of youngsters in charge.
However!
When we complained about the bed, our room was changed immediately without a problem; the free transfers were comfortable and on time; the breakfasts were good; the communal areas of the riad are lovely and the location is good (5 minutes from the "big square".
The highlight however was one guy in particular who spoke excellent English, gave us great advice on how much we should pay for some items we wanted to buy, saved us from a taxi-gone-wrong coming back from a trek in the mountains, stored our luggage safely while we trekked and even tried to source toys for our children that we had failed to buy in the square! He definitely needs some sort of promotion!
Room Tip: Look at the pictures and request a specific room buy name when booking.

Hi dear guest!
First, thanks for nice words!
Sorry not to have the chance to see you if i hear you but. May i just say I’m on site 8 to 14 hours/day 7 days / week..but sometimes I did experiment not to see guests even when there and them too! as..some go on day trip very early and go back sometimes very late..and it can happen not to have the luck to meet some travelers even if for sure I try to have the best and direct contacts with all.
but again.. a little surprised as I’m in Marrakech in Dar Najat since 7 weeks without being in our other place in Essaouira on the coast..So sorry if not the luck to meet you and hope to have this chance another time.
I would say that even when not there…you may find the team (youngsters..) with Amin (our Bob Marley.).& Tarek & Aicha & Leila & Malika & Ahmed and Maroc are there to provide the best and we are numerous team to try to do our real best for you with or without me!
i would just say few things regarding your nice post apart the fact that i didn’t meet you unfortunately as it appears:
1)furniture and bed are in the highest standard and all creations and unique in the best essences of wood and done with the most respectable way of production to have the best and only the best.
You may like or dislike the design which is logical but regarding the quality ,again ,dear guest ,we are really creating and buying the best and nothing less.
and..we totally renovate and restructured all the Riad and with also ALL brand new and with highest standards:
The total re looking and work finished in august 2011 after two months of huge work and i don't think that your words do justice to the place where you can find a unique art craft creations and Art from Africa that you didn't ever noticed in your post.
Regarding the bed ,right!
better to have a real double bed than two singles put together but in any Riads in the medina ,when you have the choice with two possible configurations ,it is the same way to do it :or twins or a double bed but again ,i agree on this point ,right ,better having a real double bed and not two singles! you will find the souad & sakina & widded & guizelaine which are only in double beds ( and not in twins) to have a better comfort for the doubles bed accommodations my friends.
The other three accommodations of the riad ,Leila & walida and noura are declinable in twin or doubles ,good to know!
I would just say that we upgraded you to a real double bed room at the minute you did asked and without any extra if I’m not wrong..(so all in all..no shame maybe..)
Last .even if your post is nice and friendly ..calling the team "youngsters" who are clearly dedicated to the guests and their welfare…seems a little odd to me.
..the "youngsters" are kind of family and i will say nice and generous people with the most attentive sense of hospitality(& rather fun.) and all work in dar najat since numerous years.. and i regret even if your post is globally nice that you employ this term of "youngsters" which doesn’t seem appropriate or so nice dear guests.
We are really more than concerned by again having you totally glad of your experience in dar najat and sorry when a guest doesn’t find the place not totally" great "as we try day by day to improve the place and service to provide the best and in the most sincere way to have our guests becoming some kind of friends and ambassadors of the Riad if you prefer.
So..i hope you will give us an extra chance to give you a total satisfaction in a future trip.
With respect ,sincerely yours ,Oliver& team.

BEST RIAD MARRAKECH 2012
Our second stay with Olivier at Dar Najat, purposely booked to stay there as a trip to Marrakech is only completed by staying at Dar Najat Riad.
Olivier's hospitality and friendly, attentive staff are excellent and the atmosphere is cool and calm, the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech and such a great place to return to when you're done with exploring the Souks, Palaces and Squares of the Medina.
Relaxing on the roof terrace (in the spa-pool) with a complimentary mint tea or freshly squeezed orange juice is something to look forward to and never fails to deliver. The food is also excellent
All the facilities are top notch, refurbishment is ongoing and every room has been improved and remain fresh, clean, cool and comfortable. Our room was a double with en-suite shower which was always hot, beds made daily, fresh towels etc.
If you're seeking calm, relaxed, efficient accommodation in the Medina (the only area to stay in) then book with Dar Najat, you won't regret it......promise.

Dar-Najat.
was everything we expected of a Riad and more. The passionate owner Oliver and his relaxed, friendly staff really made our long weekend stay very special. All arrangements were 'spot on', from our courtesy airport pick up, room, meals, excursions and recommendations on dining, site seeing etc were all met with a friendly smile and sound advice. The decor and presentation of Dar Najat is excellent, really giving us the feel that we were staying somewhere exotic but at the same time relaxing and cool. Some of the time we just stayed in as the roof terrace and spa pool were all we needed, we ate in twice because the food was simply excellent, citrus chicken tagine mmm!! Complimentary mint tea, water and guides were a valued bonus.
So if you're looking for a laid back, uber cool Riad to really make your trip to Marrakech memorable then book Dar Najat, you won't be disappointed - we certainly weren't.

coolest place to stay in Marrakech
We stayed at Dar Najat for two nights after a short holiday in coastal Essaouira. There we had been staying in the excellent Riad Bab (see 5 star reviews), also owned by Olivier, but as the wind got a bit chilly, Olivier embraced our revised plan to arrive in Marrakech a day earlier. We were met at the bus station and driven the short distance around the city walls (with a wonderful introductory commentary from the driver!) and into the medina where Olivier's staff met us and took us by foot through the tiny streets to the riad. It is beautiful! We arrived in the dark so everything was lantern lit and the terrace was completely magical. We had such a good supper and, on reflection, should have enjoyed the excellent cooking of Dar Najat's Kitchen for both nights. Our bedroom was perfect: beautiful, spotless, comfortable, quiet and with gorgeous antique mirrors, lanterns and furniture. It felt palatial and yet completely accessible and friendly too. In the mornings, we had delicious and plentiful breakfasts of eggs, pastries and fresh fruit, and were shown the way to the main square and advised about safety (food and physical), where to shop, where to eat, what to see and why for a short stay it really was worth doing the most touristy of things and taking a kalesh ride around the Medina (it was -- we went and saw things we would never have seen on foot). The staff prepared a perfect last lunch for us on the terrace before arranging for and taking us to the airport-bound taxi. This was included in the price as was our arrival taxi and one of the meals. You couldn't ask for better service, fresher food or a warmer welcome. We will certainly return.
Room Tip: There are seven rooms in the riad, some on the ground floor and others, ours included, on the first...
