special place to stay in Marrakech-RIAD DAR NAJAT
From the moment we arrived in Marrakesh, Dar najat gave us warm welcome and memorable experience. Tucked away on a quiet street just 5 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Djemaa el Fna, This riad is truly a hidden gem. The riad itself is charming and comfortable, and the owner olivier did everything possible to make us feel at home.

Food: Moroccan breakfast was served fresh every morning on the terrace and provided a wide assortment of delicious foods including freshly baked breads, cheeses, jam/marmalade, eggs or omelettes, mixed fruit and a choice of coffee, mint tea, milk and fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Location: The location of the riad is near unbeatable, especially if you like a respite from all of the activity in the plaza. Within about 15-20 minutes, we could walk to most of the attractions in Marrakesh (e.g. Badai palace, Saadien tombs, Bab agnaou, Koutoubia mosque, the souks). A few were farther away, but well worth the longer walk to stay where we were. The street where Dar najat is located is a bit quieter, but we never felt unsafe, and there is a night guard at the riad.

Hospitality: The owner possesses a wealth of information, has traveled extensively and is a fantastic conversationalist (in English, French, Spanish and maybe other languages as well). After we arrived, he sat us down with mint tea and maps of the city and highlighted the attractions for us. Not only can he provide great tips on places to see, eat, shop, etc., but he also helps arranges tours outside of Marrakesh. We decided to do a half-day hike in the atlas mountains, he arranged our transportation to and from the mountains, a private guide and lunch at a charming restaurant

In short, we loved the city and our experience at dar najat Our least favorite part of Marrakesh was being dropped off at the airport after four days of fun. We will definitely be back and can't wait to return .
