“Traditional Moroccan food - the best in Marrakech”
If you are in Marrakech and wished you had been invited to a home of one of the locals to eat tradtional Moroccan food then this is the place is for you.
The food is excellent, you get generous portions and the ambience of the place makes you feel at home. The service you get is very friendly, the staff are there just when you need them and they all speak good English.
You get a variety of vegatable starters with every meal, the portions are very big and you have to take it easy on them (even though they are delicious and you find you cannot stop eating them), you have to leave enough room for the main course and dessert.
Over 3 nights, I tried the chicken tagine which was delicious, it had a hint of lemon and olives and had just the right amount of spices. I tried the kefta tagine, always one of my favourites in Marrakech, the sauce was perfect and the meal delicious. I also tried the lamb tagine, again slow cooked to perfection, it was very tasty, the meat just melted away.
It is best to pre-book your meal in this restaurant, you can book the day before but give at least 4 hours notice so your meal can be prepared especially for you. They serve a tagine of the day (with all of the starters) which you can have if you turn up without a booking. Alcohol is served at this restaurant.
The price for the meals was very reasonable, it was around £20 per person for everything (excluding the alcohol). There were several seating options you can choose, you have the downstairs courtyard, the upstairts terrace or a couple of private seating rooms. You are not rushed around and you can take as much time as you like.
If you are going to Marrakech and are looking for traditional home cooked Moroccan food, then Dar Najat's Kitchen is the place to go.
